Brent Welch – Division President & Chief Operating Officer
Brent comes to us from Raleigh, N.C. where he served as President and General Manager of Carolina Pool Management – Raleigh. Brent’s roots in the aquatic industry run deep. He began his aquatic career in 1998 with Carolina Pool Management – Columbia, while obtaining his Masters Degree at the University of South Carolina. Brent spent two years in Columbia before moving to Atlanta, GA to work with one of the oldest and most successful pool management companies in the country, SwimAtlanta Pool Management. While in Atlanta, Brent was the Regional Director responsible for over 50 of Atlanta’s largest and most prestigous clubs. A few of the clubs Brent served as the direct point of contact for are Atlanta Athletic Club, Country Club of the South, St. Ives, Piedmont Driving Club and Ansley. After four years with SwimAtlanta Brent was offered the General Manager position with SwimAtlanta’s sister company, Carolina Pool Management located in Raleigh, N.C. While in Raleigh Brent had the pleasure of working with many of the premier Triad neighborhoods and country clubs. Some of the clubs Brent served include; The Hasentree Club, Heritage Swim and Tennis Club, North Ridge Country Club, Brier Creek Country Club and Sunset Ridge.
Due to his extensive aquatics knowledge and reputation as a leader in the aquatics industry, Brent has been retained by Oostman Aquatic Safety Consulting on several occasions to assist owner Michael Oostman (a world renowned aquatic expert that specializes in aquatic related investigations, litigation support and seminars) in aquatic investigations, facility management, and risk assessment at aquatic facilities all over the world. Going forward, Oostman Aquatic Safety Consulting will also be involved in the training and auditing of Virginia Swim Club Management’s lifeguards.
Along with his years of experience and expertise, Brent is certified in Lifeguarding, CPR and First-aid and a National Certified Pool and Spa Operator (CPO).
Brent takes great pride in his reputation of being available and easily accessible to all clients and lifeguards. He looks forward to expanding upon that reputation with VSCM.
Brent and his wife are looking forward to calling Richmond home and giving back to the community through their leadership in the aquatic community.
Brian Sheehan, Founder & CEO, Swim Club Management Group, Inc
Brian founded what is now known as Swim Club Management Group, Inc in 2002 with the vision of creating the premier Swim Club management company in the Charlotte-metro area. Within just a short period of time SCMG has established itself as the leading Swim Club management company, not just in the Charlotte-metro area, but throughout the Southeast. SCMG has affiliated offices in Charlotte, NC, Richmond, VA, Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC.
Brian holds a BS degree in Accounting and a BSBA degree in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduating from college he worked as an Associate with the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. While at PwC Brian assisted in Public Offerings, and worked on the financial audit engagements of some of the largest publicly and privately held companies in the world. He spent time working in the PwC – Baltimore office, and the PwC – Charlotte office. Some of Brian’s clients at PwC included T Rowe Price, Legg Mason, Mercantile Bank, American Cancer Society, Allegis Group, Cogentrix, and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Brian has over ten years of experience in the Swim Club Management industry and is certified by the National Swimming Pool Foundation. He served on the North Carolina Rules Committee for Public Swimming Pools in 2009-2010. He is a member of the Community Association Institute and the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals. Brian also serves as President of his Homeowners’ Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Angels and Sparrow’s Soup Kitchen.
